Hampstead is a beautiful and popular location for photography. We are proud to have our community featured in personal memories and cherished photographs. Due to the immense volume of photography requests and photographic sessions which occur at Hampstead, we have updated our Photography Rules in an effort to establish an efficient system that addresses behavior, liability, and rules for photography.


PERSONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Personal photography is defined as not-for-profit photography for personal use.

Personal photography is allowed on the Hampstead property as long as you comply with these guidelines:
• A single camera is permitted; no lighting, props, backdrops, reflective equipment, styling, etc.
• Permitted locations are: Town Center, Hampstead Farm, Hampstead Lake
• Please be mindful of other visitors; do not block areas or impede the flow of foot or vehicular traffic.
• If the photography interferes with normal business operations, you will be asked to leave.
• Please limit photography to non-peak hours: Saturdays and Sundays (Sunrise to Sundown) and Weekdays (Before 11 A.M. or Between 2 P.M. and 5 P.M.).
• Photos of storefronts and branding are not allowed without written approval by any such tenants or Hampstead.
• Hampstead reserves the right to prevent and stop any photography for any reason, including, but not limited to, photography deemed inappropriate or unsafe.


COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY FOR PRIVATE USE

Commercial photography for private use is defined as for-profit photography in which a person or family pays a photographer for personal-use photos.

Examples of Personal-Use Commercial Photography:
• Engagement / Wedding Photos
• Family Portraits
• Headshots
• School Portraits
• Baby Photos
• Holiday Photos

Commercial Photographers holding private photo sessions are allowed on the Hampstead property ONLY with compliance of these guidelines
• Commercial Photography must be with an Approved Hampstead Photographer. We give a very limited number of commercial photographer passes per year.
• If we have available Commercial Photographer Passes, the application will be on our website (below). The annual fee is $300 paid by check to the “Hampstead Residential Association.”
• The application addresses insurance requirements for liability associated with the photographer and their clients.
• Approved Commercial Photographers must wear the Hampstead-supplied photography pass in a visible location when working.
• Approved Commercial Photographers do not need to submit session dates, times or locations for their sessions.
• Permitted locations are: Town Center, Hampstead Farm, Hampstead Lake

Commercial photography is defined as for-profit photography or filming that will be used in the promotion of a brand, company, product, or person.

Examples of Commercial Photography:
Product Shoots for Catalogs or Promotion
• Product or Brand Images for Websites or Social Media
• Content to be used in Advertising or Marketing Campaigns
• Films or Video Footage

To apply for an Approved Photographer Permit, please follow the information below:

All Photographers Must Obtain a One-Year Approved Photographer Permit: Hampstead requires a permit for all for-profit photography and/or video shoots. In order to obtain a permit, photographers must submit a completed application to be an Approved Hampstead Photographer.  The Hampstead community is private property and access is only available through the permitting process. No professional (for-profit) shoots are allowed unless with an Approved Hampstead Photographer. To apply for an Approved Photographer permit, please fill out the Approved Photographer Application below.

Steps To Obtaining a One-Year Photography Permit: A one year Photography Permit (valid one year from purchase date) is $300.

  1. Fill out the online form below.

  2. Payment made by check made payable to the "Hampstead Residential Association” (mailed to Hampstead Development Office, 5272 Hampstead High Street, Unit 101, Montgomery, AL 36116.

  3. Photographers must list the required entities on their insurance as additional insureds.

  4. After the evidence of insurance and proof of payment have been received, the Approved Photographer will be issued a customized lanyard to wear when on Hampstead property. No permit will be issued until payment is made.

    To ensure a positive experience for both you and our homeowners, please follow the following rules and guidelines:
    Permit Required:
    All for-profit photography shoots require a photography permit.
    Approved Photographer Permit: All photography shoots require that the Approved Photographer clearly displays their permit while in the neighborhood.
    Courtesy: Photography must be conducted without disruption to neighborhood operations or homeowner amenity access. You may not interfere with the enjoyment of Hampstead by our residents.
    Approved Locations: Access to photo locations may be restricted at Hampstead’s discretion. The Town Center, Hampstead Farm, and Hampstead Lake are approved locations.
    Pedestrians/Traffic: Pedestrian and vehicular traffic on pathways, sidewalks, and streets cannot be blocked at any time.
    Landscaping/Furnishings: Visitors and photographers are not permitted to walk in landscaping beds, or to move or rearrange any furnishings including benches, tables, chairs. You may be held liable for any damage to the landscaping or the irrigation system.
    Prohibited: Photography involving nudity is not permitted. Alcoholic beverages or illegal substances are prohibited.
    Pets: Pets must be on a leash. You must clean up after any pets brought onto Hampstead property.
    Parking: Parking is only allowed on public streets. Parking on grass results in costly damage to the sprinkler system and is strictly prohibited.

Hampstead reserves the right to ask you and your clients to refrain from using any particular picture in the public domain if we find it objectionable in any manner. Hampstead reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to withhold and/or withdraw permission to photograph on its premises. Hampstead staff and security have authority to approach anyone suspected of conducting an unauthorized photography shoot and enforce these rules. Failure to comply may result in removal from the premises.
