The concept behind Hampstead is really a return to what works. Recognized in the 2011 CNU Awards among the world's best projects in sustainable design, Hampstead is designed and planned in the model of time-tested development patterns that can be found throughout the centuries. From Boston to Savannah to Paris, the cities that people cite as "favorite" places have one specific characteristic: each was built using traditional planning techniques. These include walkable neighborhoods, an inter-connected street network, a mixture of uses including shops, work places, churches & schools, and a variety of housing options offering something for everyone.

Combined together in a town plan, the individual pieces create a community with a true "sense of place," meaning Hampstead will stand the test of time. In addition to this strong foundation (its "DNA"), the architecture of Hampstead is a striking feature which visitors and residents find appealing. We created a team of the country's top planners & architects to design homes, town center buildings, and civic spaces for Hampstead.

The inspiration draws from the precedents found in historic areas of Montgomery, combined with the English influence of Voysey, Lutyens, and Mackintosh. The result is exceptional architecture executed to the finest detail.

Beyond the aesthetics of Hampstead, it appeals to people on an instinctive level. Residents may not know that we designed a street section to be a specific width for the ideal pedestrian experience, they just know it feels right when they walk to the market. Or they may enjoy sitting at the fountain in the town square, but not know that we designed the fountain to serve as a terminating vista from three different angles. There is a level of detail and consideration that has gone into every aspect of this project. Which means that everyone who has worked on Hampstead - from our town planners to our brick masons - feels a personal connection with this place. I think you feel that here. Instinctively, people can feel the difference - the level of commitment - here at Hampstead.
